Weekend of Games — September 11, 2005
What a weekend. I’d say for about the past month my weekends have been maintenance weekends fill with work that was put off from the weekdays. After what seems like a brief intermission from work, and I’m sitting around on a Sunday night (much like now), I’ve lately been thinking that it really did not seem like a weekend or a break of any sorts. This weekend was an exception being semi-reminescent of High School weekends. Yesterday I hung out at my friend James’s apt. and we played a lot of games. After the night started out poorly with James car needing to be towed, we started out with Halo 2 on a beautiful 55 in. HD TV. I was slightly disappointed that Halo 2 didn’t horizontally split for co-op mode on a 16:9 TV like I thought it would, but what ever, it was still awesome beyond words. Next in line for things to do that night was Starcraft (a classic). After a slight map tweak and a laptop update we played from about 11pm-4am. Extremely hard map, and remarkably it only took 2 hours to beat it. It was the BEST game of Starcraft I’ve ever played. Some how both James and I almost died, and we both came back from the grave. I saved the replay it was that good. We plan to make it harder. Anyhow, Jenn was very understanding in the matter (muah!). She went out and saw The Exorcism of Emily Rose while I was over James and failed at having a good nights sleep afterwards. I guess some things that would’ve made the weekend better would’ve been…a LONGER game of Starcraft, and pancakes in the morning afterwards :-p. Overall, I feel like this was a very great weekend, and I’m going back to work feeling refreshed…been a while.
